Obituary for Thelma Hurst Collins

Thelma Jean Hurst Collins, age 67, Middlesboro, KY passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017 at her home. She was born December 29, 1949 in Middlesboro, KY, the daughter of the late Andrew and Lela Pike Hurst. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters: Andrea Hurst and Betty Lou Hurst Webb. She was a member of the Middlesboro Church of Christ. She graduated from Middlesboro High School. She was a devoted wife of 49 years, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Charles Collins; her two sons: Scott (Gina) Collins, and Craig (Michelle) Collins; seven grandchildren: Edna (PJ), Madison (Mervyn), Cora, Drake (Amber), Triston, Sydney, Craig II, Andrew and Jonathan; six great-grandchildren: Cameron, Ian, Lincoln, Shawn, Seth and Llewyn; one brother: Edward (Sharon) Hurst; and one sister: Glenda (Roy) Lewis; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Monday, April 24, 2017 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Harrogate Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel.
