Obituary for Patricia Marcellette \"Mert\ Iovine

Patricia Marcellette 'Mert' Iovine, age 86, Middlesboro, KY passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Middlesboro Nursing and Rehab Facility. She was born on August 9, 1930 in Claremore, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late John Ovid Mayberry and Ocie Elizabeth Mayberry. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Callison Iovine and son, James Thomas Iovine. She was owner/operator of Callison's Furniture Store. She served many roles at St. Julian's Catholic Church such as St. Julian PTA President, Altar Society, St. Julian Parish Council, Volunteer for St. Julian School, Bereavement Committee for many years as well as many other committees.

She is survived by her children: Libbie (Dennis) Kelley, Pattie Iovine, Jan (Andy) Teasley, Joe (Lisa) Iovine, Robert Iovine, and Michael Iovine; grandchildren: Denise Keith, Michael Kelley, Maegan (Nick) Wilson, Jason Gandy, Ryan (Katie)Gandy, Jeffrey Burns, Amanda Burns, Jonathon Iovine, Jake Iovine and Crit Teasley; great grandchildren: Patricia Haidyn Wilson, Madelyn Mae Wilson, Isabella Kate Gandy, James Oliver Gandy, Jonathon Keith, and Paetyn Keith; sisters: Marlene Dover and Marie Cline; brothers: Roy and Ray Mayberry; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Middlesboro Nursing and Rehab Facility.

Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at St. Julian's Catholic Church with FR Thobias Sabriar, MC officiating. The Rosary will be 10 a.m. at St. Julian's Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be Michael Kelley, Ryan Gandy, Jason Gandy, Jonathon Iovine, Jeffrey Burns, Nick Wilson, John Keith, and Chris Iovine. Honorary Pallbearers will be Pete Turnblazer, Jim Turnblazer, Herbert Tamer, David Tamer, Dick Tamer, Michael Tamer, and Crit Teasley. Interment will be in Middlesboro Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. Julian Church. 'We loved her in life; let us not forget her in death. ' St. Ambrose
