Obituary for Melody Ann Taylor

Melody Anne Taylor, age 58, Middlesboro, KY (formerly of Harlan, KY) passed away Monday, February 19, 2018 at her home. She was born June 23, 1959 in Berea, KY, the daughter of Patricia Bronson Taylor Rowland and Melvin (Shirley) Taylor. She is preceded in death by her stepfather, Roger Rowland; her grandparents: Ed Bronson, Stella Marie Bronson, and Rev. Claude M. and Annabelle Taylor; and her aunt, Gerry Taylor Slusher. Melody graduated from James A Cawood High School and then became a licensed real estate agent working for Bert Pollitte Real Estate in Harlan and Don Foster and Associates in Richmond. She served as Executive Advisor for Richmond Jaycees.

She is survived by her son, Jeff (Heather) Anderson of Lexington, KY; her mother, Patricia Bronson Taylor Rowland of Harrogate, TN; father, Melvin (Shirley) Taylor; father of her son, Roger Anderson; step sister, Nancy (Doug) Rowland-Engle; step brothers: Harold Rowland of Knoxville, TN and Marion Rowland, Harrogate, TN; aunts: Kay (Armand) Cardenas of Chicago, IL and Wanda Shepler of Peoria, IL and a niece, Tammy (Kevin) Malone of Chicago, IL.

Memorial service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Melody.
