Obituary for James Kenneth Norvell

James Kenneth Norvell, age 66, passed away October 6, 2017 at Select Specialty Hospital in Knoxville, TN. He was born November 27, 1950 in Middlesboro, KY, the son of the late James George Norvell and Lucy Jane Norvell. He was of the Holiness Faith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by special uncle, William Dilbeck and step-son, Chuck Barnett.

He is survived by his fiancée, Gracie Green; his children: Nancy (Wade) Wilson, Ethel (Larry) Partin, George Norvell, and their mother, Ruth Upton; step-daughter, Jewel (Harold) Helton, step-son, Bobby (Shelia) Barnett; his sisters: Dottie Maxwell, Cornie Warren, Maggie Norvell; his brother, Joe Franklin Norvell; his grandchildren: Olivia Ellison, Jake Partin, Kristen Partin, Karlee Collins, Kaylee Norvell, Johnathon Wilson, Justin Wilson; special niece, Jennifer Nash and a host of family and friends.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Givens officiating. Music will be provided by the Warwick Family. Pallbearers will be George Norvell, Larry Partin, Jacob Partin, Harvey Wight, Johnny Lee Nash, and Charles Lee Upton. Interment will follow in Hensley Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel.
