Obituary for Hazel "Ruth" Heck

Hazel "Ruth" Heck (Byrge) passed away on Friday, July 14 at the age of 69.

Ruth was a former resident of Middlesboro, Kentucky. She married Donald Heck (also of Middlesboro). They had four children and lived in Belleville, Michigan. She was a loving wife and mother.

Ruth leaves behind her devoted husband of 51 years, Donald Heck and her children: Deborah (Greg) Noworol, Dennis Heck, and Teresa (John) Gillespie; grandchildren: Samantha Gillespie, Rachael (Andrew) Weise, and Rebekah (Mason) Smith; great granddaughter Bella Bierl, and daughter-in-law Amy White. She also leaves behind seven sisters: Irene Green, Betty Overton, Shirley (Johnny) Hood, Wanda Brummett, Patsy (Jessie Ray) Ammons, Peggy Byrge, and Edna (Randall) Leamon; an aunt Thelma McKinney, and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Jennie Lee (Compton) Byrge and her daughter Belinda Gail Heck. Also preceding her are brothers: Ernest Byrge, Oliver Byrge, Simon Byrge, Steve Wilson and sister, Mary Cornett.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Padgett officiating. Interment will follow in Green Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel.
