Obituary for Edna Mae Johnson

Edna Mae Johnson was born on May 22, 1916 in Lonsdale, Tennessee. She was the daughter of late Mathus Weaver and the late Ruby Weaver. On Sunday, May 27, 2018, at 8:20 p.m., God called her home to rest. Edna was educated in Harlan, Kentucky. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Willie L. Johnson and to this union they were blessed with a daughter, the late Edna Louise Stokes. Edna accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and joined Mt Moriah Baptist Church. She was a loving, caring person with the will to live no matter what the circumstances may be.

Those left to cherish her memories is her grandson, Robert (Bertha) Johnson of Cincinnati, OH; three granddaughters: Lorie (Freddie) Lawson of Carteret, NJ, Terri (Levi) Washington of Bayshore, NY, Natalie (Quincy) Johnson of Long Island City, NY; mother of three granddaughters - Barbara Johnson; niece Loretta Moore of Illinois and nephew Curtis Johnson of Tennessee; and a host of grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Tuesday June 5, 2018 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with Pastor Simmons officiating. The family will receive friends from 11-1 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Lynch Cemetery.
