Obituary for Catherine Lee Adkins

Catherine Lee Adkins, 87, of Middlesboro KY passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was born in Middlesboro, Ky on February 6th, 1930, the daughter of the late Richard and Dorothy Faye Humfleet Biggerstaff.



She also was preceded in death by her husband, Azel Adkins; son, Arnold Adkins; two sisters, Betty Tyler and Beverly Biggerstaff; and one brother, Richard Biggerstaff. She was a member of Gap Creek Baptist Church.



She is survived by one son, Alan (Linda) Adkins of Middlesboro;, two sisters, Mary Lou Biggerstaff of Indiana, and Ann Heath of Florida; two granddaughters, Sharon (Mike) Hensley and Heather Adkins; grandchildren, Dylan, Jacob, Adam Adkins, Jordyn, Joshua, Jenna Hensley; and several nieces and nephews.



Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Friday, February 24,2017 at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Boggs officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m., Friday, February 24,201. Burial will be in the Browning Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dylan Adkins, Donnie Earls, Bradley Earls, Joshua Hensley, Mike Hensley, Jacob Adkins, Wayne Thacker, and Adam Adkins.
